About Me

Hello! My name is Lauren Blasdel and I was born and raised in a town northeast of Houston, Texas.  In 2009, I married my middle school sweetheart and we have a son named Easton, who is eight, and two puppies named Max (16) and Goober (12). We are a huge baseball family. Easton plays in a local league and we love everything Astros. You can find us at Minute Maid Park or at home cheering them on every chance we get. I enjoy decorating and spending the holidays doing fun things with my family. I spend lots of time reading, any time I can, usually just for fun, but I love a good book that gets me thinking too.

I have always loved working with children and knew from a young age that education was in my future. In 2017, I graduated from Lone Star College with my Associates degree and then went into the education program at University of Houston-Downtown. In 2019, I graduated with my EC-6 and ESL certification and started teaching third grade Reading. I started teaching in the fall as a third grade reading, writing, and social studies teacher in Humble ISD. I have been learning and growing with my students ever since. In 2023, I decided to continue my educational journey and started pursuing my masters degree in Educational Technology at Lamar University. Going back to school is a scary thing, but I am excited to learn new things!

I am dedicated to fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. My learning philosophy centers on the belief that every student has the potential to excel when provided with the right tools and opportunities. I advocate for the integration of digital learning and innovative teaching strategies to engage students and develop their critical thinking skills. My learning manifesto emphasizes the importance of personalized learning, reflective practices, and the cultivation of a growth mindset. Through my experiences in the ADL program, I have committed to creating a classroom where students are empowered to take ownership of their learning and become lifelong learners.
