Sweet Moments & Reflections

I'm constantly inspired by the potential for leadership in everyday moments. This perspective was wonderfully reinforced by Drew Dudley's "Everyday Leadership" talk. Dudley emphasizes that leadership isn't just about grand gestures or world-changing events, but about small, meaningful interactions—what he calls "lollipop moments." In his talk, Dudley shares a story about a small, seemingly insignificant act of kindness that had a profound impact on someone's life. He calls these instances "lollipop moments." These are times when we do something simple yet meaningful that positively affects another person's life, often without realizing it. This idea is beautiful to me.

My innovation project focuses on integrating ePortfolios into our classroom activities. The goal is to enhance student learning, self-assessment, and reflection through the use of digital portfolios. The current status of the implementation is that we are in the training phase. We have many teachers at

our school who only use technology in the classroom when absolutely necessary, so it has taken longer to train and have them feel confident and ready to go but I feel like we are heading in the right direction. This innovation project has taught me valuable lessons about the benefits of ePortfolios in enhancing student learning and reflection. Moving forward, I plan to build on these insights to continue promoting the use of ePortfolios among my students and to inspire other educators to do the same. The journey has been rewarding, and I look forward to further evolving this project and applying what I've learned to future innovations.

Drew Dudley's TED Talk on "Everyday Leadership" resonates with the core principles of this project. Dudley emphasizes the importance of small, everyday actions that have significant impacts on others, which aligns with how ePortfolios enable students to recognize and celebrate their learning milestones. Dudley’s concept of "lollipop moments"—those seemingly small but impactful interactions—reflects how ePortfolios can capture and highlight the important yet often overlooked moments in students' educational journeys.

Leadership is not about titles or grand achievements; it's about the everyday actions that make a difference in others' lives. By recognizing and celebrating lollipop moments, we can help our students understand that they have the power to be leaders every day. Let’s work together to create a world where everyone feels valued and empowered to make a positive impact, one lollipop moment at a time.
